We offer a variety of routes into teaching, which cater to the various needs of aspiring teachers. These balance rigorous training with supportive, practical application so trainee teachers become experts in child-centered teaching approaches.

Our investment in comprehensive professional development ensures our trainee teachers emerge as empowered, reflective practitioners prepared to make an immediate impact in the classroom. With an impressive 100% employment rate, we take pride in our tailored provision that leads to qualified teacher status (QTS) and rewarding careers, transforming young lives. Whether you envision teaching at St. Polycarp's or any of our local partner schools, our programme provides a launchpad for inspired educators committed to shaping the future lives of children.

Our teacher training programme is centered at St Joseph's Catholic Primary School in Guildford, part of the Xavier Teach SouthEast Surrey Hub. Training sessions take place every Thursday, led by experienced classroom practitioners who are specialists in their areas.

These weekly sessions are designed to complement trainees' practical classroom experiences with essential theoretical knowledge. The curriculum covers a range of topics crucial for new teachers, including teaching methods, classroom management, and subject-specific strategies.

Trainees benefit from a collaborative learning environment, sharing ideas with peers from various schools in the region. This centralised approach to training helps maintain consistency in quality and supports the development of a supportive network among trainees.
