At St Polycarp's we promote Sports Leadership for our pupils for the following reasons:

• to develop confidence and self esteem
• to encourage our children to work collaboratively
• to enable children to be innovators
• to encourage our children to be creative
• to promote good communication and listening skills
• to use their passion and enthusiasm to inspire and influence others
• to enable them to have a route to be helpful and show commitment
• to enable them to act as role models for other children
• to give them opportunities to write applications for roles
• to provide a pupil voice 

The Sports Leadership Groups are as follows:

• Sports Crew 
• PhysiFun Leaders 
• Surrey School Games Ambassadors
• Sports Council representatives 
• Sports Captains
• Young Sports Leaders 

All the above groups receive training for their roles either within school or off site by Active Surrey providers or other sporting bodies.
