Worship
As a Catholic school, our ethos and curriculum places great emphasis on religious education, worship and respect. This is reflected through the recognition we are constantly receiving for the outstanding behaviour and supportive attitude of all our children.
Our children are encouraged to understand and respect a wide range of religious beliefs and backgrounds, and whilst all children are involved in the catholic ethos of the school, the religious beliefs of the individual are inclusively respected within the school community. Parents of non-catholic faiths actively contribute to building the understanding of the variety of religions as part of our curriculum.
The school shares its site with St Joan of Arc Catholic Parish Church, and services with the children are regularly held through the term, and also attended by parents. It is also supported and works with a wide number of local parishes and diocese. The links and information relating to our main catholic family partners are on the right.
Our Prayers
St Polycarp's School Prayer
Lord, Bless our school,
that working together
and playing together
we may learn to love one
another
and to love and serve you.
Amen
Morning Prayer
My God I offer up to Thee
my heart and soul
thine own to be
and all I do or think or say
and all my work and
all my play.
Amen.
Lunchtime Prayer
Bless us O God as we sit together
Bless the food we eat today
Bless the hands that make the food
Bless us O God
Amen
End of Day Prayer
God our Father
I come to say
Thank you for your love today
Thank you for my family
And all the friends you give to me
Guard me in the dark of night
And in the morning, send your light
Amen
